First impressions count with Digital Signage

Occasionally we are asked by our customers to implement a digital signage solution.

Firstly I need to address what is digital signage, Wikipedia defines it as…
“a remotely managed digital display typically tied in with sales, advertising and marketing” or as “a network of electronic displays that are centrally managed and individually addressable for the display of text, animated or video messages for advertising, information, entertainment and merchandising to targeted audiences.”
But I would say it is a platform limited only by your imagination and ability to create or source content.
You probably see Digital signage many times a day without even realising it, from pricing boards in your favourite fast-food restaurant, as you walk past a shop window displaying that hours special offer, in a train station or airport to fully interactive systems in Estate agents, or wayfinding in towns or shopping centres.
At DCS we use Digital Signage to provide a welcome screen in our reception, with live TV, a welcome message and some customer quotes, this is digital signage in a very simple but effective form.
DCS use and supply a solution from Signagelive which is cloud based and can be scaled to suit any needs from a single screen to massive video wall made up of many screens.
A recent example of a Digital Signage installation can be seen by the visitors to York’s Official Visitors Information Service, Visityork where the cloud based Signagelive system allows 1 person to control and push content to various screens at multiple locations.
